He took her by the hand, and pulled her from the chair. At the very moment she bumped into his chest, there were only them. Just two people, who knew what, would happen once the little dance was over. Their feet moved, one side to another, the music silently caressing their ears with its own sweet lullaby. His hand moved from her shoulder to her back, holding her closer, she raised herself to her tip toes and breathed in his scent from his neck. From side to side, back and forth they moved rhythmically, every step that was taken was another way to profess what they felt, and why they wanted to end it. Before she could help herself, she moved her head from the crook of his neck and looked him in the eyes, the minute she leaned in closer, and he became captivated as well. Their lips touched and the world stood still for seconds, minutes, perhaps years. When they moved away all they could do was look into each other eyes, and try to convey whatever feeling they had left, to tell them, to ask”¦ to know. The music faded unnoticeably and the moment faded to the same dull grey color on the walls. They moved away from each other, every moment in unison. It took them both a battle to continue moving on, without looking over their shoulder, and see if the other looked back. He held the door open for her, his eyes looking anywhere but her, and she stared at the ground as if the meaning of life was written there. They moved, and walked, at the end of the hallway, two ways pointing in different directions, and they parted ways with no spoken word to one another. ”¦Then one of them stopped.
