A girl in Istanbul | ||

In a response to my poem "Journeys with my Piano", Haleløs wanted me to go to Borneo and describe my adventures there. I have never been to that part of the world, but recently I went to Istanbul and to please Haleløs I have just written a piece about what happened as I came to that ancient beautiful city. Last month I went to Istanbul I met a girl, I saw her school, her friends, her house, her living room, I met her eyes and felt at home We went to see the city square, the mosques, the domes and standing there she held my hand, I held her gaze through April's sunny morning haze The ancient, mystic city took my breath, my heart with just one look a touch of hearts, a moment's joy I felt her soul, not to destroy But Pantocrator's look made sure we didn't take to steps impure We held a dove in our hands we let it fly to other lands I'm grateful that I did not harm the dove that rested on my arm yet somehow I would wish the dove had stayed and given me her love |

good job in Istanbul, young poet! Maybe you'll meet this dove next at Rådhuspladsen in Copenhagen?

interesting, true story about ... kidnapping (or how else she arrived at Aarhus)!
Could be elaborated into some novel over summer, I should think.
Consider that? I shall certainly read on ;)

:D She wasn't kidnapped, just in a difficult situation with her boss whom she liked, but he was married and she wouldn't break their marriage bond. She was "caught" by him emotionally.
Thank you for the idea :) I don't have time right now for writing a novel, but in time I would like to write one, yes.

no doubt, you could turn this above true-story into a very good novel!
I'd like to recommend to you this very famous book (my review): 'Marie Antoinette' (ca. 431 sider) af Stefan Zweig
you'll find supportive suggestions and guidance on how-to describe and interpret feelings / action ;)

I met her already in Denmark once
I remember, though it's been many months
She wept in a church where I silently stood
Looking at her, sorry, though stiff as wood.
Are you ok, I said, she wiped her eyes
with a downward look that told no lies
her story was true, her beauty real
and listening I did her sadness feel
Do I now betray the faith of a friend?
for trust me, dear reader, I do not bend
the story since all I've said is true
I hope she forgives that I'm telling you
She had a desire so impossible
caught by a man so horrible
that her he would have, despite his wife
and so mess up his very own life
Her boss it was that was so using her
but she said no since she did prefer
to be pure in this life and not hurt his wife
yet here she stood with such inner strife
An artist she was making glass blue and white
fragile and clear, like the moon in the night
standing on bridges in Aarhus I felt
the soul of a woman who my being did melt
Goodbye we said and promised to meet
one fine day again on a lucky street
I thank fortune's choice that I got to know
a person with such a beautiful glow
