Kvinden i Istanbul III | ||

Dette digt er i forlængelse af mine to tidligere digte om kvinden i Istanbul. Se A girl in Istanbul today I fancy yet a trip back to that city where my lip did first so brush this woman's cheek and whisper secrets for a week will I again by female eyes be caught and utter lovers' sighs or will the chants on holy grounds wake in me other-worldly sounds will Pantocrator lift his gaze and shine through misty morning haze will sacred hymns seduce my heart and make of me a mystic bard or will the two combine in one to mix the sacred with the fun can I be human and divine can such a destiny be mine or will I stand with heavy sighs and never rest my wandering eyes will I not know how to decide on whom to let my gaze abide |

Tak for hintet med storyid. Bemærk at der står "or" ved begyndelsen af sidste strofe så "human and divine" og "wandering eyes" er to forskellige scenarier.
